Why is equaliser different?

Equaliser Loves and Cares for Zimbabwe, and has a Responsibility to Emancipate disadvantaged children and provide Equal Opportunity leveling out the playing field. So with or without data or the internet, the Equaliser learning system enables schools that cannot afford internet data to have a full experience of the digital world.

With Equaliser, the learning tools accessible to your students are increased in both volume and variety at a constant cost.

What Inspired Equaliser – a brief history about Christopher Mawere, the Founder and Equaliser system developer.

Christopher is a Zimbabwean who relocated with his family to Sydney Australia and has been there for over 10 years now. In 1999, for his 4th year project at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST – Zimbabwe) Chris, as a devoted Catholic developed a Digital Bible and got a distinction. From 1999 to 2008 things slowed down as Chris was struggling to find a technology on which to run his Digital Library idea.

When the iPhone was released in 2008, Chris played around with the idea of putting the holy book on an iPhone. Things accelerated in 2010 when Chris started knowing about the iPad, and he continued developing this idea in his personal space. Chris later started developing this idea into an offline learning system and in 2015, Chris and his friend Shepherd Nyajeka approached Ngezi High School where Chris’ nephew and nieces were schooling so they could pilot his system.

The Ngezi High teachers asked them how they intended to get books onto a device, and Chris and team started developing the system from the front to the back with the end user in mind. In 2017 Chris and Shepherd Nyajeka were introduced to St Michael’s High school in the same Mhondoro Ngezi rural area and they agreed to pilot the system, and the server was deployed at St Michaels in 2018.

Chris also engaged his close friend from high school Tanaka Urayai in 2018 to market and distribute the system and together with Shepherd Nyajeka we have been at it since then growing from strength to strength.
